The University of Louisiana at Lafayette World Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Mr. Troy Breaux, is comprised of the finest undergraduate and graduate students within the UL Lafayette percussion program. As one of the nations leading world percussion programs, the university of Louisiana at Lafayette World Percussion Ensemble includes the African Drum and Dance Ensemble, the Indonesian Gamelan Orchestra, the Japanese Taiko Ensemble, and the centerpiece of the program, the Afro-Caribbean Percussion Ensemble. This group is an eclectic fusion of Afro-Cuban, Caribbean, Central American, and Brazilian percussion with the traditional Steel Drum Band from Trinidad and Tobago.
